Alan Hickenbottom, President and Founder
As president and founder, Alan directs the strategy and vision for Tanner Creek Energy and works closely with customers and vendors to ensure it can offer its customers solutions that meet their business and energy management goals. In 2003, after a successful career in high-technology, Alan co-founded Common Energy, a Hood River, Oregon based renewable energy and green building firm. In 2006, Alan joined Energy Outfitters, later purchased by groSolar, as the NW Commercial Solar sector manager founding Tanner Creek Energy in 2007. In 2010, Alan was selected as a member of the Pivotal Leaders business network, a peer-nominated group of clean technology sector business leaders from Oregon, Washington, Idaho and British Columbia. Alan is a past member of the board of the Build Local Alliance and current board member of the Northwest Environmental Business Council.
Kyle Kobel, Vice President
Kyle is responsible for the design and implementation of energy solutions that help customers reduce their energy footprint while meeting their goals and requirements. Kyle’s role includes the effective utilization and coordination of external consulting, technical and engineering resources. Kyle’s background in energy efficiency started at the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, where he worked to accelerate the adoption of energy efficiency products, technologies and practices in the commercial and industrial sectors. Kyle has over ten years in energy management and has worked extensively in the commercial, agricultural and industrial markets. His expertise includes energy efficiency technologies, energy incentives, photovoltaic systems, consulting and project management.
Mat Elmore, Business Development
Mat Elmore is responsible for business development and client relations. Mat began his career in the sustainability field even before leaving college with an extensive project to profile and understand Oregon’s sustainable winery community. Before joining Tanner Creek Energy, Mat acted as the project coordinator for the Oregon Environmental Council’s Carbon Neutral Winery Challenge, an initiative that assists wineries and vineyards in Oregon in reducing their greenhouse gas emissions, energy footprint and overall environmental impact.
Josh Kitts, Project Manager
Josh is responsible for the day-to-day on-site management of many of our projects including scheduling, subcontractor and job coordination, on-site supervision, safety, quality control, direct labor activity coordination, and overall jobsite responsibility. He works closely with the various construction crews to make sure each project is progressing smoothly. Josh comes to Tanner Creek Energy with a diverse construction background and an enthusiasm for all things solar.
